Collections

Our collections are a unique and valuable resource for the state of Maryland. They include specimens in the disciplines of geology, mineralogy, entomology, malacology, herpetology, ornithology, mammalogy, paleontology, anthropology and botany.

The Museum

The wall of a natural history museum- various animal mounts are hung on the walls, such as eagles, deer, and a black bear, and display cases contain artifacts and other specimens.

Our natural history collections date from the 1800s to the present and include minerals, fossils, flora, fauna, and artifacts from Maryland and the mid-Atlantic region.
