With its three horns and large neck frill, Triceratops, is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs. This herbivores date to the last 3 million years of the Cretaceous Period (145.5 mil to 65.5 mil years ago), making it one of the last of the non-avian dinosaurs to have evolved. Join us to learn about the natural history of “Trikes”, and get a sneak peak at William’s ongoing project to determine whether the frills could have been used for heat regulation.
William Bragg, is a geology student at the University of Cincinnati who has been interested in paleontology since age two and has studied Ceratopsians since age 12.
* Natural History Society of Maryland’s Fossil Club is a group of novice and more experienced collectors will meet to exchange knowledge and help with fossil identification, discuss fossil locations, as well as other fossil related topics.
