Join us on an unforgettable journey along the Patapsco River!
On this paddle we will follow the river as it bends through the industrial landscapes and vibrant neighborhoods of Baltimore City to the forested hillsides and farmland in Baltimore County. Along the way we will learn the crucial role marshes play in our ecosystem and explore the factors that influence their health. The roughly 8 mile out and back excursion finishes at the mouth of the river where we will discuss the ongoing restoration efforts shaping Baltimore’s future.
Our canoes seat 2 adults, so individuals will be paired up with another paddler. If you are not comfortable paddling with a stranger, sign up with a buddy! Please bring a lunch and wear comfortable clothing/ footwear that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. This paddle finishes at a different location from where it begins thus requiring shuttling that will be coordinated with all participants.
Due to the length of this paddle we recommend previous paddling experience.
