Paddle and experience history with us on this unique visit to the Ghost Fleet of Mallows Bay, the home to the largest number of visible historic shipwrecks in the Western Hemisphere. Located around the bay are one hundred wooden and steel-hulled ships, dating from the 18th century through the mid-20th century, with nearly ninety belonging to the United States Shipping Board’s World War I Emergency Fleet of wooden steamships. Over time, many of the ships have become small islands with their own mini-ecosystems and have converted the Bay into an area of natural and historic wonder.
This trip is great for all levels of paddlers. Our canoes seat 2 adults, so individuals will be paired up with another paddler- if you are not comfortable paddling with a stranger, sign-up with a buddy! Children signed up may sit in the middle of the canoe. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. There are portable toilets, picnic tables, and a walking trail at the park, so feel free to bring lunch if you want to hang around before or after your paddle!
CANCELLATION POLICY – Refunds available if cancellations are made greater than 7 days prior to trip.
Specific trip information will be provided upon registration. Please contact Lauren with any additional questions.
