Field Trips Open to the Public

Join Mycologist Serenella Linares on a visit to one of her favorite mushroom-hunting spots: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. This site offers one of the most diverse macrofungi sites of the region, and it’s host to one of the most brilliant bioluminescent species of the Mid-Atlantic. Learn about the fungal relationships and natural phenomena associated with the fungi species at the site. We will move at a very slow pace to observe and enjoy the mushrooms seen popping up in the fungi-extravaganza season of fall.

Note: An additional $6 parking fee will be collected per car at the visitor center.
