Celebrate Fall Insects

 ,

Field Trips Open to the Public

What’s buzzing around your head? Let’s find out on a leisurely hike with naturalist Kerry Wixted in the Glendening Nature Preserve. We’ll search for insects and other interesting invertebrates in the butterfly garden, traipse through the managed sand-barren habitat, and then hit some of the forest to explore. If we find any monarchs along the way, we will also tag them in the process.
  • The hike will be suitable for ages 10 and up and will not be fast-paced.
  • Wear outdoor clothing and trail-worthy shoes.
  • Wear sun protection, including a hat. This trip will be out in the open for most of the time.
  • Bring ample water.
  • Bring a hand lens, if you have one.
