Lep Club Swap Meet

Just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, May’s meeting of the NHSM Lep Club will be live and in person only! Join us to swap lepidoptera (any life stage) and their host or nectar plants while sharing gardening and husbandry tips. Meet new members, get reacquainted with long-term members, and help one another unlock new lep achievements.
In addition, feel free to bring books or other resources you’ve found hound helpful, from building a perfect pollinator garden, to rearing, to species identification. Members considering getting into raising leps or new species of leps should come with questions for more experienced members.
All are welcome to attend, but for planning purposes, it’s great when folks decide to RSVP. If you would like to bring something to swap, go ahead and let the Club Coordinator know (mfalk@marylandnature.org).
If you love butterflies and moths, consider joining the NHSM Lep Club. The Lep Club is made up of novice and expert lepidopterists who meet to exchange knowledge and support concerning habitat, threats, food sources, identification, and life cycle of butterflies and moths. Club meetings encourage a sharing of knowledge for the raising and breeding of moths and butterflies through hands-on lessons and guest speakers. Club members are also involved in outreach in the greater Baltimore community through educational programs and service projects. Most club meetings feature a guest speaker who shares their knowledge on a topic related to moths and butterflies. Meetings also include time to distribute caterpillars and eggs.
