Come take a short walk with naturalist-enthusiast Holly Burke and the Natural History Society to learn how to read the trees in their winter rest! Participants will take an hour walk around Druid Hill Park to explore the trees of the park, learning how to distinguish between various woody plant species. You will learn how to situate yourself and the species around you without as many leaves and colors to guide you.
The walk will be at a stroll, slow pace on mostly flat ground, with some uneven grass and slopes.
Please dress warmly and bring whatever will make you comfortable in the cold such as water, hand warmers, tea, etc. We are keeping the walk short because we do not have an indoor space!
A week before the event, you will receive an email with more information, including meeting place. We are yet to determine a “rain date.”
If you have any questions, please reach out to Vanessa at vlubiner@marylandnature.org.
This event is free! Location: 3100 Swann Dr, Baltimore, MD 21217
