Come join naturalist Missy Lauterbach and see what there is to discover and learn about on the beautiful, marshy waterways of Dundee Creek. Witness which birds frequent this abundant haven and learn about their different fishing techniques. Watch the minnows scatter as you glide over their nurseries. Spot the slough of a young blue crab and learn about why they come to this fresh water marsh.
No boat, no experience…no problem! The Natural History Society of Maryland has a fleet of canoes that is ready to launch. We will supply the canoes, paddles, and adult-sized PFD’s (life jackets). We’ll also provide some basic paddling instruction at the beginning of the trip.
Cost: $25 for members of the Natural History Society of Maryland; $35 for non-members. FREE for children under 12 who will be riding in a canoe with 2 adults. Become a member of the Natural History Society of Maryland at www.marylandnature.org.
**Pre-registration is required to attend this trip due to the fact that we have a limited amount of seats available in our canoes.
** All ages are welcome, but we currently only have adult PFD’s. Small children can attend but are required to bring their own, properly fitted – USCG approved PFD. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants are welcome to bring their own canoe, kayak, paddle, or USCG approved PFD.
