Enjoy the splendor of witnessing the sun set beyond the treeline while floating along a quiet creek. Listen to the wind gently rustling the phragmites and watch the muskrats come out for their early evening snack. Bring your camera to capture some shots of nature’s incredible light show!
No boat, no experience…no problem! The Natural History Society of Maryland has a fleet of canoes that is ready to launch. We will supply the canoes, paddles, and adult-sized PFD’s (life jackets). We’ll also provide some basic paddling instruction at the beginning of the trip.
**Pre-registration is required to attend this trip due to the fact that we have a limited amount of seats available in our canoes.
** All ages are welcome, but we currently only have adult PFD’s. Small children can attend but are required to bring their own, properly fitted – USCG approved PFD. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants are welcome to bring their own canoe, kayak, paddle, or USCG approved PFD.
Cost: $25 for members of the Natural History Society of Maryland; $35 for non-members. FREE for children under 12 who will be riding in a canoe with 2 adults. Become a member of the Natural History Society of Maryland at www.marylandnature.org.
